finishing off in the Caribbean….

finishing off in the Caribbean!
Our main news? We’re back in Fiji!!! However we have quite a few interesting photos left over from the Turks & Caicos islands, so plan to share some of them with you:
I think this is the smallest commercial plane we’ve ever flown in, (from Provo to Grand Turk). It’s an 8-seater Cessna with no partition between the pilot & the passengers! No in flight service, no toilet, no flight attendant—nothing. Thank you to Caicos Express that gave us a good discount on our tickets.
Staying on the subject of transportation, here below is what an inter-island ferry looks like in this part of the world. This one took us to North Caicos & back, with a 50% discount.
Finally, here’s ‘Lookout Point’ on Grand Turk: just beyond it is a very shallow reef called Northeast Reef—the scene of many hundreds of shipwrecks. As most wrecks could be salvaged in the shallow waters, the island’s people began to become quite prosperous from all the goods that they collected from the sinking vessels! After the lighthouse was constructed, the number of wrecks went down but there were still accusations that workers were deliberately making the light very dim in order to cash in on the next wreck….. Best solution? Take a Cessna!
