Forward progress!

Thanks for your prayers…..after finally getting our authorization letter from the Cayman Islands Government, we were able to work closely with a government-linked organization called the National Drug Council. A big ‘thank you’ to Simon Miller at the NDC, who worked hard to produce a schedule to help us visit the government schools with the greatest need for our program. He was also a great help in driving us around to all the places we needed to go!
Despite some people warning us about John Gray High School being a real ‘problem school’ with difficult students, we found it to be well organized & the students mostly pretty well-behaved. We encountered the usual challenge of our DVDs not being compatible with American systems, but have now overcome the problem by always bringing a thumb drive with VLC & other programs that play almost all DVD formats. While I’m busy giving our introduction about smoking & addiction, Susan is busy trying to get the school laptop to display both audio & video!
Our most inspiring program this month though was when we visited the Northward prison, along with the prison chaplain & other friends. It was a great opportunity to give my testimony & also show the DVD ‘Countdown to Armageddon’. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take photos, but here’s what the facility looks like on the outside.
Of all the programs we do, it’s often prisoners that show the greatest receptivity: they know they’ve made mistakes & this often fills them with a desire to start over & begin afresh with a new life & new Christian values….
