clothes for Waituri village!
posted July 24th
It’s always a big job to prepare, load & unload the clothes for our distributions!!!We are thankful to our friend Pastor Saula who was able to pick us up, as well as the bags of clothes, in spite of his busy schedule. Saula manages to juggle his part time job of driver, his ministry of feeding the street kids weekly along with an early morning devotions, and the running of a new church that he started in his own simple rented house in a needy area. Dedicated man!
We were amused by the lovely faces of some of the children upon our arrival; they’d just come back from gathering seasonal fruits, (‘wee wee’ in Fijian), that grow in the village area.
The small meeting place was full, but everyone was concerned & ready to share with many others around them in their area of Waituri. Very friendly & kind people in a simple atmosphere…the clothes-giving ceremony ended with a big cup of milo for everyone.
A big ‘thank you’ to Value City (Australian-based 2nd hand clothing company with branches all over Fiji), for donating the clothes for this distribution, as well as for many others during the past few months.
