Recently we’ve been counting our blessings in the form of friends that came to stay with us at our Fiji house in 2014. Here are 2 very up-to-date examples of how investing in hospitality & friendship resulted in unexpected returns!
They met with some resistance when trying to get a shipping company to donate the sending of the books via Sydney to Fiji; however they didn’t give up. A few weeks ago, they wrote us with the good news that the local Fijian expats club had agreed to donate the transport costs! Apparently John & Heather showed videos of our distributions & also arranged a ‘sausage sizzler’ to help with fund-raising!
We just arrived in Vietnam less than 2 weeks ago & found that, without any planning whatsoever, we came right at the start of the Tet festival – the celebration of the Chinese New Year, that marks a time of feasting, festivity & spending time with loved ones! We were welcomed by Kimmy’s relatives & found ourselves invited to one feast after another, after another – a great introduction to this SE Asian country that we don’t know much about!
more on our travels in Vietnam in a few weeks……
